University Mohammed VI Polytechnic - UM6P

Delivered by BYMARO, the Moroccan subsidiary of Bouygues Bâtiment International, the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), located 70 kilometers north of Marrakech, plays a central role in the transformation of Benguerir into a major hub for education, research and innovation.

The project consists of the construction of a Scientific and Technological Hub made up of nine two-storey buildings, developed under a turnkey, all-trades contract. Completed in a fast-track schedule, the campus was delivered in time for the 2022 academic year.

Spanning approximately 95,000 square meters, the campus accommodates a wide range of academic and research functions, welcoming students and researchers from Morocco and abroad.

The Scientific and Technological Hub integrates a comprehensive set of facilities designed to support higher education and advanced research, including:

• Reception and administrative areas
• Conference rooms and collaborative spaces
• Specialised teaching laboratories (geology, chemistry, nano-engineering, agro-biosciences, biomedical and IT laboratories)
• Research and support facilities
• Office spaces for academic staff

Developed using lean project management, the campus was delivered within a particularly tight timeframe while ensuring flexibility, functionality and long-term adaptability of the buildings.

With this new academic infrastructure, UM6P aims to position Benguerir as a centre of excellence in education, research and innovation for Morocco and the African continent, contributing to the city’s long-term economic and social development.
