South Florida’s first multi-story warehouse for last-mile logistics

Americaribe, Bouygues Bâtiment International’s subsidiary based in the US and the Caribbean, delivered the Palmer Lake Logistics Center, South Florida’s first multi-storey logistics facility, located east of Miami International Airport. Developed for Prologis, this three-storey warehouse sets a new standard for urban logistics in the region, dedicated to last-mile e-commerce operations.

The center provides a total area of 93,000m², with high-performance sorting processes on the first floor covering 14,000m². In addition to logistics spaces, the building includes office space across the first and second floors, retail space on the ground floor, and modern welfare facilities for employees.

With 293 employee parking spaces on the first and second floors, 10 truck loading bays at ground level, and a roof deck designed for delivery van operations (570 staging spaces, 96 queuing, and 96 loading), the facility is optimized for efficiency. The complex also features 3,344m² of open space dedicated to staff wellbeing.

Handed over in just 13 months, the project’s rapid delivery was made possible using more than 2,700 concrete precast structures and advanced construction planning.

A high-performance, sustainable logistics facility

Palmer Lake Logistics Center is designed for efficiency, sustainability, and employee wellbeing. The building’s three-storey layout, developed by Jackson Liles Architecture, RLC Architects, and Witkin Hults & Partners, maximizes urban space while serving the needs of a leading last-mile logistics provider.

The first of its kind in South Florida, the facility achieves LEED certification, underlining its commitment to environmentally responsible construction and operations. On the roof, a 28,000m2 canopy of photovoltaic panels help to reduce the building’s carbon footprint by generating renewable energy to power electric vehicles.
