An underground station, at the heart of a changing region

At a depth of nearly 50 meters, the Villejuif station was the result of an extraordinary technical and human adventure. Dug out over nine underground levels, it is one of the deepest transport infrastructures in France.
But beyond the engineering feat, it is above all a promise of connection and proximity that is taking shape underground: connecting rapidly transforming areas more quickly and directly.

Located in the immediate vicinity of the Gustave Roussy Institute and the Campus Grand Parc urban development zone, the station is supporting the transformation of a major health, research, and innovation hub. It has become a strategic entry point for patients, professionals, students, and residents, helping to bring together places of life, care, and work.
Designed as a true metropolitan connector, it is helping to reshape daily mobility in the southern Paris region.

New infrastructure designed with users in mind

For three years, our teams worked on the layout and equipment of this exceptional structure, transforming a raw infrastructure into a fluid, clear, and welcoming space for future users. In an environment constrained by depth and technical complexity, every detail was designed to facilitate movement and ensure passenger comfort.

The 16 elevators and 32 escalators form the backbone of this vertical station, allowing it to absorb large flows of people while ensuring accessibility for all.
At the intersection of lines 14 and 15 South, it has become a major hub for the Île-de-France network, capable of handling up to 100,000 passengers per day.

More than just infrastructure, the station embodies a new way of thinking about mobility: more connected, more efficient, and focused on the needs of the region. It also symbolizes our teams' commitment to tackling ambitious technical challenges to create useful, sustainable places that are deeply rooted in everyday life.
