A wooden residential tower in the heart of Paris

The Le Berlier building is located in the heart of Paris's 13ᵗʰ arrondissement and challenges construction standards. Standing 50 meters tall, Le Berlier was designed by the Moreau Kusunoki architectural firm on behalf of Emerige. It meets ambitious environmental challenges and is made from a combination of materials, including 1,632 cubic meters of wood, concrete, and metal.

Almost the entire structure is made of wood, with larch facades and a pre-weathered wooden frame resting on a concrete base and core.
The two basement levels, the balconies, and the monumental staircase on the ground floor are also made of concrete.

The combination of wood and concrete offers significant insulation and low-carbon benefits, significantly reducing the building's carbon footprint. In total, 400 tons of CO₂ were saved compared to a concrete construction project.

A long modern balcony features a dark charred wood facade and glass doors on the left, natural wooden beams on the right, and a wooden deck floor with prominent shadows. It offers a view of a towering blue glass skyscraper and city skyline under a clear sky.

Meeting the challenges of decarbonization through wood construction

This unique project was the result of collaboration between our teams and those at Wewood, Bouygues Bâtiment France's wood expertise office. The structure was built entirely thanks to significant acculturation and training efforts led by the production department to enable workers to develop their skills and expertise in wood construction.

The residence now comprises 77 owner-occupied homes, two shops, and 33 parking spaces, and includes three levels of green spaces designed by MOZ Paysage to promote biodiversity.
