For more than 11 years, DTP has been operating the Kibali mine, one of the largest gold mines in Africa. To date, more than 130 million cubic metres of material have been excavated from eight pits spread over fifteen kilometres.
The company has created an on-site training centre at the Kibali mine to provide the local population with quality education and training on how to perform maintenance operations on mining equipment. Kibali has three hydropower dams that produce 80% of the energy needed to operate the mine.
This facility has given DTP the opportunity to launch a pilot programme on battery-electric trucks in late 2024.
