Lifting and tensioning the cable-net roof of the new stadium in Miami

The Miami Freedom Park project involves the construction of a 25,000-seat stadium with a complex cable-net roof requiring extremely precise lifting and tensioning.

VSL was commissioned to supply, install, commission and operate the entire heavy lifting system. The teams delivered 120 hydraulic jacks ranging from 120 to 330 tonnes, installed the hydraulic and electronic network, integrated the RIO control system developed by VSL, and carried out all lifting and tensioning phases.

Challenges included limited crane height due to the proximity of the airport, severe weather conditions and complex international logistics. Despite this, VSL ensured continuous monitoring, precise adaptation to tolerances and reliable load transfer to the final roof height.
