Fewer materials and shorter lead times for a record-breaking paving project in Mexico
To support the construction of the new AVA Resort Cancun hotel in Cancún, VSL Mexico designed the structure, supplied the prestressing and provided the client with comprehensive technical support. The team optimised the design to reduce material usage, eliminate beams and create large column-free spaces. In total, 246,000 m² of prestressed slabs were installed — the largest application of this technology in Mexico. VSL also invested in an injection machine suitable for hot climates, ensuring the quality of the grout. This solution saved 8% in materials and shortened the construction period by four months.
